Mr F T Lam

Mr FT Lam
FT Lam has been a Consultant Surgeon at University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire (UHCW) since 1991. He received his surgical training in Manchester and Leeds. His main areas of interest are laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery of the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, adrenal gland and kidney transplants. He also carries out minimal access parathyroid surgery as well as thyroid surgery.




Dr John Wong

Dr John Wong
John Wong (not to be confused with Mr Ling Wong, Colorectal Surgeon) has been a consultant physician and gastroenterologist at the University Hospital Coventry since 2004. He provides a professional and comprehensive service in Hepatology, Gastroenterology and Endoscopy. He undertakes advanced endoscopy which includes ERCP, endoscopic stenting, and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS). He also performs liver fibroscan.



Mr Ian Fraser

Mr Ian Fraser
Ian Fraser acquired his medical training in Birmingham, Leicester and the USA. He has been a consultant in Coventry for over 20 years. He has a particular interest in pancreatic and gall bladder diseases. He has practiced laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery for over 15 years and has particular involvement in ERCP, an endoscopic technique to deal with bile duct stones.




Mr Saboor Khan

Mr Saboor Khan
Saboor Khan was appointed as Consultant Hepato-biliary Pancreatic and General Surgeon at the University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust in 2005. He trained in West-Midlands and specialist liver and pancreatic units in London and USA (Mayo Clinic, Rochester). He has a particular interest in management of gall bladder, bile ducts, pancreatic and liver disorders. He routinely undertakes laparoscopic (keyhole) treatment of gall bladder disease, hernia repair, and when indicated, hepatic/pancreatic conditions.


Dr Manpreet Dhillon

Dr Manpreet Dhillon
Manpreet Dhillon trained at Birmingham Medical School until 1995. After graduation he initially trained in surgery for 4 years obtaining his MRCS. Following this he side stepped into Radiology on the West Midlands Radiology scheme and joined as a consultant radiologist in Coventry in 2006 with an interest in hepatobiliary imaging and intervention. Since his appointment he has been responsible for introducing several key imaging and interventional techniques (such as percutaneous metal biliary stenting, TIPSS and radiofrequency ablation). He is one of the lead radiologists for the hepatobiliary multidisciplinary team.

Dr William Shatwell

Dr William Shatwell
William Shatwell trained in medicine at Cambridge and St George’s Hospital, London. He trained in Radiology at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford and has been a consultant radiologist in Coventry for over 15 years. He has particular interests in abdominal imaging and has extensive experience in ultrasound, MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) and CT. He has been lead radiologist for the upper GI and hepatobiliary multidisciplinary teams in Coventry for over ten years.



Mr Vinod Menon

Mr Vinod Menon
Vinod Menon was appointed as Consultant General, Upper Gastro-intestinal & Laparoscopic surgeon at the University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust in 2002. He has a particular interest in oesophageal & gastric disease as well as laparoscopic (keyhole) treatment of gall bladder disease and morbid obesity. He routinely undertakes gastro-intestinal endoscopy, keyhole technique of hernia repair and insertion of gastric balloons & gastric bands for obese patients.
